User receives error while trying to change their password for Rehab Management
Entire error message: No permission for update/write access to table USERS by <user name>.
Solution
This typically happens when UpdateIBSecurityDB.exe cannot access admin.ib due to an incorrect or ambiguous location in VertexMenu.ini. If the error is happening during an installation, ignore it and finish the installation, then perform the steps below.
- Navigate to the VertexRehabManagementBin folder.
- Find and open VertexMenu.ini.
- In VertexMenu.ini, find the line labeled SERVER_NAME. Make a note of the server name listed.
- Still in VertexMenu.ini, locate the line labeled SECURITY_DB_PATH.
- After the = sign but before the drive letter, type the name of the server followed by a colon. The end result will look something like this: SECURITY_DB_PATH=server01:c:Program FilesBorlandInterBaseadmin.ib
- Save the file. Leave it open in case further alterations are needed.
Attempt to run UpdateIBSecurityDB.exe to determine if this has fixed the issue.
UpdateIBSecurityDB.exe can be found in the Bin folder for the Rehab Management installation.
If the same error occurs, continue with the following steps:
- In VertexMenu.ini, type a forward slash ( / ) after the server name.
- Add the instance name immediately after the forward slash. The instance name will usually be gds_db. The end result will look something like this: SECURITY_DB_PATH=server01/gds_db:c:Program FilesBorlandInterBaseadmin.ib
- Save the file.
Attempt to run UpdateIBSecurityDB.exe to determine if this has fixed the issue.
