Tradeshow Recap: Vertex Attends SCHSPA 2025

From March 10–12, Vertex Systems had the privilege of attending the South Carolina Human Service Providers Annual Conference (SCHSPA) in vibrant Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This event marked a gathering of passionate professionals dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, spinal cord injuries, and autism spectrum disorders across South Carolina. 

Our attendance at SCHSPA 2025 offered us the unique opportunity to connect with several IDD services organizations while showcasing our state-compliant billing and case management solutions. Here’s a look back at what we learned, the connections we made, and the fun we had along the way: 

Why Vertex Attended SCHSPA 2025 

The SCHSPA Human Service Providers Annual Conference is renowned for bringing together a community of human service professionals who work tirelessly to empower and support individuals and families. For Vertex, this presented a valuable opportunity to connect with South Carolina-based agencies and deepen our understanding of their unique challenges and needs. 

Key Insights from SCHSPA 2025 

1. Widespread Use of Therap 

Therap is widely used among human services organizations in South Carolina, which sparked numerous discussions at the conference. We heard firsthand about the common pain points and challenges users face with this solution, which highlights the valuable opportunity for Vertex to bring our reliable and user-friendly systems to this state. 

2. A Growing Potential for Vertex Systems 

Our conversations with Executive Directors, Billing Managers, and Case Managers reinforced the potential for Vertex to break into South Carolina’s market. Agencies expressed genuine interest in a robust alternative that can address their billing and case management needs while maintaining compliance with state regulations. 

3. State Exclusivity Challenges 

One of the recurring themes in our discussions was Therap’s semi-exclusive agreement with the state of South Carolina. While this presents some hurdles, it also shines a light on how important it is for us to build relationships with South Carolina’s human service providers. Given time and persistence, we’re excited about the potential to collaborate and expand our solutions here. 

Building Connections That Matter 

The core of SCHSPA 2025 allowed us to connect with several parties in attendance – from Executive Directors and HR Specialists to Vendor Partners and Billing Managers – we met with a wide range of dedicated human services professionals. 

Additionally, we collaborated with other exhibitors, who shared insights about future conferences and events we could attend. The camaraderie and shared commitment to serving human services organizations made the conference all the more rewarding. 

Fun and Engagement at the SCHSPA Conference 

Who says conferences can’t be fun? At SCHSPA 2025, the energy was as exciting as the Myrtle Beach backdrop. Here are just a few highlights from the event’s activities:

  • Exhibit Hall Success: The dedicated exhibit hall ensured strong engagement between service providers and exhibitors. It was a focal point for meaningful discussions and professional connections.
  • Special Events for Attendees: From the lively welcome reception to an inspirational awards lunch, SCHSPA’s curated events emphasized the celebration of human service professionals and their impactful work. 

What’s Next for Vertex 

Attending the Human Service Providers Annual Conference reaffirmed our commitment to the incredible agencies and individuals working in human services. The event inspired a few key action items that we’re excited to move forward with:

Expanding Our Reach in South Carolina: We hope to seize the opportunity to support more human services organizations in South Carolina by providing state-compliant solutions that simplify billing and improve case management.
