Vertex Systems had the exciting opportunity to attend the annual North Carolina Association of Rehabilitation Facilities (NCARF) Conference. Here, we connected with many of our largest customers and competitors in the IDD and rehabilitation agency industries.
As expected, it was a whirlwind trip full of learning, networking, and a deeper understanding of how our software solution benefits these organizations. Here’s a recap of our most notable moments at NCARF 2023!
About NCARF
NCARF is a leading organization that represents community rehabilitation providers in North Carolina. The nonprofit members of NCARF provide employment opportunities, training, and job placement for those with disabilities or barriers to employment. The organization offers services such as advocacy, training, and networking, to support providers while acting as the unified voice of quality providers.
One of the most important events that NCARF hosts is its annual conference, which brings together the best in the industry. Vertex Systems was delighted to be invited to attend such an important initiative that supports and connects organizations like our own in improving the lives of disabled individuals.
NCARF Conference Overview:
The 2023 NCARF Spring Conference occurred at Courtyard by Marriott Carolina Beach from April 26th to April 28th. The conference hosted various sessions geared toward the diverse sectors and issues specific to the rehabilitation industry. This included sessions on topics such as:
- Advocacy efforts in NC
- NC Division of Mental Health
- Division of Vocational Rehabilitation
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Talent Acquisition
- Long Term Services and Supports Care Management (LTCS)
- Brain Injury Supports
- VR Collaboration
Moreover, Vertex Systems had the opportunity to meet with some of our largest customers in North Carolina.
Notable Interactions & Key Insights We’ve Gained
Interestingly, during our discussions with our most significant competitor in North Carolina, it was revealed that Vertex Systems had replaced their solution for one of our clients. This was quite surprising given our competitor’s dominant position in the state. This revelation attests to the quality of our services and the flexibility our solutions offer.
Our team at Vertex prides ourselves on our ability to adapt and respond to the changing needs of IDD and rehabilitation agencies. Our billing module, for example, was purposefully written to be flexible, giving us greater capability to offer services across different states while giving us a competitive edge over state-specific solutions.
Our Billing & Payroll Solutions Are a Step Above the Rest
Vertex also had the opportunity to meet with a representative from another competitor and explore the biggest opportunities for their current solution. We’ve learned from this discussion that this competitor has shortcomings in their Service Billing solution and cannot calculate and apply 14C (subminimum wage) in their system.
Conversely, Vertex can perform these actions in our Client Payroll Manager module with ease. Because of this worthwhile discussion with our competitor, we were prompted to consider how we could collaborate on solutions with them in the near future.
